"Both the Hopis and Mayans recognize that we are approaching the end of a World Age... In both cases, however, the Hopi and Mayan elders do not prophesy that everything will come to an end. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another. The message they give concerns our making a choice of how we enter the future ahead. Our moving through with either resistance or acceptance will determine whether the transition will happen with cataclysmic changes or gradual peace and tranquility. The same theme can be found reflected in the prophecies of many other Native American visionaries from Black Elk to Sun Bear."

Three kinds of tribes that live in Rain Forests are--
The Pygmies
This Pygmy woman is food outside her hut, with her baby cradled on her back. Mbuti and Baka Pygmies live in the rainforests of Central Africa. Traditionally they live by hunting and gathering food.
The Huli
The Huli are one of the many tribes that live in the remote highland forests of Papua New Guniea. They live by hunting, gathering plants and growing crops. Men and women live seperately, in large group houses. The men decorate their bodies with colored clay and wear elaborate headdresses for ceremonies.
The Yanomami
One of the largest groups of Amerindian people in South America is the Yanomami. Their village life is centered around the yano, or communal house. The yano is a large, circular building constructed of vine and leaf thatch, which has a living space in the middle. This picture shows Yanomami men eating a meal.

Did you know that there are about 50,000,000 tribal people living in world's rainforests?
These people depend on the forests for their food and shelter. As we cut more and more trees and destroy more and more of the forests, we are also killing people. Many native tribes have been exterminated already because their governments failed to protect them from logging companies, the mining companies and the slash and burn farmers.

The calcium carbonate (chalk) skeletons of dead corals serve as the foundation upon which layers of successively younger animals attach themselves. The coral animal, or polyp, is shaped like a column. Its lower end is attached to the hard floor of the reef and its upper end extends into the water.
There are two kinds of corals—hard and soft—depending on the type of skeleton secreted. The hard-coral polyp deposits a cup-like solid skeleton of calcium carbonate around itself into which the polyp withdraws during the daytime. For this reason, deep sea divers see only the skeletons—and not the polyps—of hard corals.
A coral colony consists of thousands of individuals. Accumulations of dead and living coral polyps, combined with rising water levels, slowly lead to the formation of coral reefs that can be hundreds of meters deep and long.

While many believe Benjamin Franklin to be the father of electricity, current findings seem to show otherwise. In 1752, Franklin is said to have performed the famous experiment of flying a kite during a thunderstorm, which led to the discovery that lightning and electricity were somehow related. Modern scientists know this to be something of a tall tale, since being hit by lightning would have been fatal. It's likely that Franklin was actually insulated, away from the path of lightning.
The kite experiment helped Franklin establish a relationship between lightning and electricity, which led to the invention of the lightning rod. Benjamin Franklin went on to observe other phenomena related to electricity, but many believe that he didn't actually discover its true nature.
In 1800, Italian-born physicist Alessandro Volta constructed the voltaic pile, later known as the electric battery, the first device to produce a steady electric current. It was Volta, not Franklin, who discovered

India is the 3rd largest potato producer in the world, after China at 1 and Russia at 2 and before the United States at 3. Potato production increased more than 850% since 1960, due to both increased production area and yield. The per Capita Potato consumption in India has risen from 12 kg/capita/year in the early nineties to over 16 kg/capita now, with a slight decline in recent years. The sector developing most rapidly is the snack foods sector, including potato chips. Market leader is Frito-lay with a 45 % market share. Haldiram's has a 27% market share. The market is far from stable: recently ITC , an IT/cigarette company making huge inroad in the CPG market, has managed to get a market share of 11% with its potato chip "Bingo" in just 6 month. Also a dairy manufacturer (Amul) just announced to move into the snack market. Key weapon in this war for the Indian snack market are the Indian flavours.

It is widely proclaimed that April Fool’s Day originated in France in 1562, or thereabouts, when Pope Gregory replaced the Julian calender with the Gregorian calender in the Julian calender month of April. The day of introduction of the Gregorian calender was made the first day of January. Some people hadn’t heard about the change in the date, so they continued to celebrate the New Year’s Day, but it being 1st April. So, others called them “April fools.” The fact is that Pope Gregory XIII ordered Thursday 4 October 1582 to be the last day of the Julian calendar. The next day was Friday 15 October. April Fool’s Day is an April Fool’s tale.
The April Fool’s Day tradition in France includes poisson d’avril (“April’s fish”), attempting to attach a paper fish to the victim’s back without being noticed.

We're all trapped.
Each of us is stuck being who we are. Sometimes we fight to change ourselves, but
ultimately this has little effect. We can change what we do, but we cannot change who we
are.
If you're a happy person, you don't feel trapped. If you're surrounded by people who you
love and who love you, if you can do what you want to do in life, if you are at peace with
who you are, why would you ever feel trapped? You wouldn't want to change yourself, you
wouldn't need to try.
If you're a happy person, hey, you got lucky! Go back to the previous page, you'll find
nothing of interest here.
